This website is an online gallery dedicated to my grandfather Peter Maksylewich and the hand-crafted violins and violas that he made.

Creating instruments was a passion for my grandfather; something he began over two decades ago, and continued doing as long as his health allowed. He was self-taught in this, as he was in most of his endeavors.

Although Peter loved making his violins and violas, he never really tried to sell them. A few were given away as gifts, and a handful were sold to professional players, but when he passed away, he left a few dozen fine instruments behind.

This website exists to preserve Peter's name, and share his craft with everyone. Please, feel free to browse through the site and have a look at his achievements.

Initially, we've had six instruments inspected, restored where necessary, and appraised. More pieces will be added over time, so check back regularily. And thank you for visiting.
